Polling and retries

Read recommended_interval_seconds from GET /endpoints.

Poll deliberately

Read recommended_interval_seconds from GET /endpoints. It is polling guidance, not a freshness guarantee or a replacement for the request limit. Reuse results among your application's users rather than issuing identical requests for each view.

For exports, use ETag and If-None-Match. Polling faster than snapshot generation does not create newer data.

Handle failures

On 429, honor Retry-After. On transient transport errors or 503, use bounded exponential backoff with jitter and a maximum attempt count. Do not automatically retry invalid parameters, invalid credentials or insufficient credits without fixing their cause.

Price routes read data, but successful requests can consume credits. If a response is lost, you may not know whether the server completed and charged it; retrying can incur another charge. Batch requests reduce overhead without removing this uncertainty. Log request IDs when available and avoid logging keys.
